AirSwap is a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange platform that enables individuals to trade their tokens directly with each other, without any central authority or third party involved.

The platform enables users to directly communicate with each other to determine the asset and price of the trade, and once both parties are ready for settlement, Ethereum-based Swap Protocol completes the exchange. Up to the moment when the trade is settled, the users are in complete control of their funds, which makes the process more secure compared to centralized exchanges.

The platform ensures anonymity: negotiations before the trade happen privately instead of on blockchain. Also, AirSwap has zero fees, as no custody or maintenance is required.

The AirSwap token (AST) is an ERC20 token that is used by liquidity providers to access the network. Users eager to add liquidity at the exchange must stake AST, which actually allows AirSwap to function without additional fees.

AirSwap was co-founded by Michael Oved and Don Mosites in 2017 and has Mike Novogratz (Galaxy Digital) and Joseph Lubin (ConsenSys) among its advisors.
